Conference for Users of Statistics 2005. This five-yearly conference for users of statistics to exchange views and learn about new developments. Key themes – statistics and their role in national identity, environment, the changing economy, social setting, community development and education. Also, developments with the Official Statistics System.
The conference will focus on the role of statistics in defining New Zealand, the changing economy, environmental issues, community development, and education. Workshops will examine economic, social, cultural and environment statistics from the perspective of those using them.
Special sessions will be held for non-profit organisations, policy analysts, educationalists and other groups. The conference will present a challenging range of keynote speakers. Research into user groups will provide views from beyond the conference walls.
