How does population relate to education?
Education in New Zealand is a primary mechanism for the development of skills within the population. The size and characteristics of different age groups impacts on the nature of resources required to facilitate this process.
Education is a life time activity for most people and a source of employment for many. Formal education affects all people from under 5 years of age (for pre-schoolers) to 16 years (the school leaving age) and beyond into the tertiary sector.
